Explore carefully. Learn honestly.
These terms apply when you use TrekBound, create an account, contribute material, or purchase membership.
Operator, agreement, and eligibility
TrekBound is operated by Christopher Joseph Kaye, a New York sole proprietor doing business as TrekBound. By using TrekBound, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be legally able to enter this agreement. Children under 13 may use only public educational exploration with a parent, legal guardian, school, or authorized educator. They may not independently create accounts, buy memberships, provide precise location, or submit personal information or contributions. Other minors require permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
Education—not professional advice
TrekBound provides general historical education, discovery, and trip inspiration. Interpretation, coordinates, hours, access, closures, route conditions, and outside links can change or contain errors. Check current official information before traveling or relying on a detail.
Travel, location, and safety
TrekBound is not an emergency service or a substitute for official navigation, posted rules, weather warnings, accessibility guidance, or property staff. Stay on lawful public routes. Do not trespass, drive distracted, enter closed or unsafe areas, disturb sacred or sensitive places, or handle a phone while operating a vehicle.
Accounts
You are responsible for accurate information, protecting account access, and activity through your account. Notify Support of suspected unauthorized use. TrekBound may restrict accounts used for fraud, abuse, security threats, infringement, unlawful conduct, or serious violations. Account deletion is available through the product or our request process.
Free and Premium service
Some features are free and some require Premium. Current prices and included benefits appear on the membership page. Prices may change for future purchases. Existing subscription renewals receive notice required by applicable law and the payment provider.
Subscriptions
Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until canceled. Price, billing period, and renewal terms are shown before checkout. Cancel before renewal to avoid the next charge. Cancellation normally leaves access active through the paid period. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Founding Membership
The first 100 completed and accepted Founding Membership purchases may receive TrekBound Premium for the lifetime of the TrekBound service for one nontransferable account. “Lifetime” means while TrekBound continues to operate and offer the covered Premium service; it is not tied to a person’s lifespan and does not guarantee that every feature will exist forever. It excludes separately priced physical goods, tickets, live events, donations, professional services, and products clearly identified as outside Premium.
Contributions
You keep ownership of original material you submit. If TrekBound accepts it, you grant TrekBound a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, edit, excerpt, translate, format for accessibility, display, distribute, and preserve it for operating, explaining, and promoting the service. You confirm that you are at least 18, that you have all necessary rights and permissions—including permission concerning identifiable private people where required—and that the submission contains no private address, personal information about a child, secret credential, or dangerous precise location. Nothing publishes automatically. TrekBound may review, decline, paraphrase, label, restrict, unpublish, or remove submissions and may restrict repeat infringers.
Acceptable use
Do not break laws; interfere with security; scrape at harmful scale; impersonate others; upload malware; harass people; expose private or dangerous locations; submit material without rights; bypass access controls; or facilitate trespass, vandalism, exploitation, or harm.
Ownership and outside services
TrekBound software, branding, original writing, design, and curated collections are protected by applicable law. Historical facts are not owned, but original expression and organization may be. Third-party archives, museums, maps, images, and links remain subject to their owners’ rights and terms.
Availability and termination
TrekBound may improve, replace, pause, or discontinue parts of the service. Reasonable efforts will be made to avoid unnecessary loss of paid value. You may stop using TrekBound at any time. Provisions that reasonably need to survive continue after termination.
Disclaimers and limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, TrekBound is provided “as is” and “as available” without promises of uninterrupted operation or complete accuracy. TrekBound is not responsible for conditions at physical places or third-party conduct. To the fullest extent allowed by law, TrekBound will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Disputes, governing law, and changes
Contact christopherkaye25@gmail.com first so concerns can be resolved informally. These Terms are governed by New York law, without overriding consumer protections or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived. Subject to those protections, disputes may be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Dutchess County, New York. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive a user’s right to participate in a class action.
Material changes will be dated and communicated when appropriate. A separate business mailing address will be added before paid public launch; no private residential address is published.
